Job Summary:
Under general supervision and direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor/Lead, the candidate will be responsible for the coordination and performance of ultrasound procedures as ordered by the physician. They will provide assistance to the Radiologist/physicians as requested with the technical factors involved in such ordered procedures.

Job Essentials:
1. Prepares room and equipment for ultrasound procedures.
2. Cleans and disinfects ultrasound room and equipment after each exam and procedure.
3. Prepares patient for ultrasound exams and procedures. Explains exams and procedures,
transfers patient to table, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedure.
4. Ensures that patients are as comfortable as possible during exam and while waiting for
transport before and after exam by providing blankets, sheets, pillows, etc.
5. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
6. Obtains complete clinical history and gathers pertinent clinical data of patient to aid in
diagnosis of exams.
7. Verifies procedure in Epic,& reviews any other special notes or comments (ex: prescriptions; ordering physicians, previous exams, etc).
8. Maintains necessary supplies in ultrasound room.
9. Prepares trays for procedures using sterile technique when necessary.
10. Instructs students in the clinical/technical aspect of ultrasonography.
11. Informs ultrasound supervisor of stock levels.
12. Informs ultrasound supervisor of any problems with respect to equipment.
13. Assists radiologist/physician during procedures when required.
14. Schedules patients for exams and explains preparation to patient when necessary.
15. Performs scans and is responsible to report any abnormality in patients study to
radiologist.
16. Position may require to cover multiple offsite locations including the Hospital.
17. Interacts with the patient and responds to his/her needs within a context, which
recognizes the growth and development process, or the aging process of that patient.
18. Provides services to male and female patients of all age group.
19. Perform other related duties as required.
20. Breast US experience preferred
Education Requirements:
• High School graduate or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
• One year training in diagnostic ultrasound in a program approved by ARDMS.
• One-year experience in ultrasound is desirable.
• One-year experience as Breast US Tech preferred.
License/Certification/Registry:
- RDMS required or eligible. If RDMS eligible must have RDMS certification within the
allotted time frame designated by the ACR.
