Job Summary:
Performs routine and advanced radiographic procedures including mammography within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental standards.

Department: HOPD Woodland Park 
Location: Woodland Park, NJ

Hours: 8am-4pm


Job Essentials:

 
  1. Interacts with patients, visitors, physicians and callers in a professional and courteous manner.
  2. Explains the nature of the test in detail to the patient in order to calm fears and anxiety associated with the procedure.
  3. Utilizes departmental G.R.E.A.T scripting to help breast center and hospital achieve excellence in service while adhering to the hospital Communication Standards
  4. Helps translate for clinician / staff if a language barrier presents and employee speaks a second language if completed the hospital translation course and passed test.
  5. Uses the translation service / Cyracom when a language barrier exists.
  6. Correlates prior images, prior reports and prescriptions to assure that appropriate procedure is being performed.
  7. Updates all information inpatient's record / Epic.
  8. Uses technical expertise to review all images for proper positioning, correct laterality, and correct patient information.
  9. Monitors patient's condition throughout the exam, and promptly reports any abnormalities including fainting, discoloration, or any other reaction to the procedure.
  10. Accurately uses computer and IT system to retrieve and enter data with respect to accurate charges for ordered procedures.
  11. Recognizes that all Quality Assurance tests have been performed before the unit is used for patient imaging. Performs Quality Assurance tests as warranted.
  12. Demonstrates ability to recognize and address priorities promptly.
  13. Performs quality control procedures and accurately maintains records.
  14. Prepares for state and ACR accreditation for both mamFn 9Faphyand stereotactic core biopsy.
  1. Maintains order and cleanliness in the department and responsible for condition of mammography area, staff lounge and all areas of the breast center.
  2. Maintains appropriate levels of supplies in the mammographic area and participates in ordering supplies for the center.
  3. Assists physicians competently during procedures and prepares slides for pathology interpretation when indicated.
  4. Provides patients with high quality care and respect throughout the procedure, is competent enough to answer all questions/concerns, and directs the patient to the proper clinical authority when indicated.
  5. Responsible for proper operation of all equipment used in the performance of duties; reports all needed repairs to appropriate personnel.
  6. Cares for patients and performs exams regardless of age or body habitus, as well as wheelchair bound patients to ensure they are getting full proper exams.
  7. Keeps patients informed of wait times or extra exams to follow.
  8. Floats to all offsite facilities to ensure adequate staffing when indicated, up to 10% anually
  9. Responsible for maintaining state licensure requirements and continuing education requirements.
  10. Complies with hospital uniform policy.

Education Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Two-year college program; Associate's Degree preferred.
    • Satisfactory completion of a two year AMA approved Radioiogic Technology Program.
    • Must maintain New Jersey license.
    • Minimum of 3 years of breast imaging experience preferred.

License/Certification/Registry:

  • Must be A.R.R.T. registered with Mammo certification.
  • Must maintain New Jersey license.
  • CPR certified.
Englewood Health provides a minimum rate to comply with New Jersey Law.  The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
