Job Summary:
Operates MRI equipment to make a scan of designated portions of the body.

Job Essentials:

- Prepares room and equipment for MRI scans.

- Cleans and disinfects MRI room and equipment.

- Prepares patient for MRI exams and procedures.

- Ensures that patients are as comfortable as possible during exam and while waiting for
transport before and after exam by providing blankets, sheets, pillow set, etc.

- Prepares contrast media for MRI exams, using sterile technique when necessary.

- Assists radiologist/physician with MRI equipment.

- Maintains the necessary supplies in MRI rooms.

- Informs supervisor of stock levels.

- Interacts with the patient and responds to his/her needs within a context which recognizes

- Checks patient’s record for appropriate documentation such as history form,
consent, doctors orders, etc.

- Verifies procedure in Epic & reviews any other special notes or comments.

- Position may require to cover multiple offsite locations including the Hospital.

- Interviews patient to determine if he/she has a history where MRI is contraindicated.

- Answers phones and arranges exam schedule when necessary.

- Informs supervisor of any regard to unusual circumstances that concern equipment.

Education Requirements:
- Associates degree and satisfactory completion of two years of formal training in an AMA approved radiologic technology program.
License/Certification/Registry:
- Must be ARRT registered or eligible.
- MRI certification required or eligible
- Must be New Jersey State licensed.
- CPR certified.
