Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse is an expert clinician and patient advocate in a particular specialty or subspecialty of nursing practice. The Advanced Practice Nurse can be a credentialed Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner. The Advanced Practice Nurse provides direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning health promotion and preventive care within this specialized area of practice and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of health problems according to established joint nursing/medical protocols. In addition to direct practice, the sub-roles of the Advanced Practice Nurse role include education, research and consultation. The Advanced Practice Nurse is involved in indirect practice activities with the goal of improving the quality of care across the continuum of care.

Job Essentials:

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of specialty, role modeling application of clinical practice standards.
  • Determines and prioritizes patient care needs. Diagnoses are determined and prioritized from the assessment data using appropriate complex clinical reasoning. 
  • Selects and performs tests and therapeutic procedures for the patient as necessary, adhering to scope of practice guidelines and program area's curriculum.
  • Identifies expected outcomes with consideration of the associated risks, benefits and costs.  Modifies expected outcomes based on changes in the patient's care status.
  • Responds to nursing staff/care managers and/or other multidisciplinary patient care team members request for consultation across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and outcomes.
  • Patient Education - Identifies educational needs of patients and families and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary patient care team to develop programs and materials for team members, patient/family and the community
  • Participates in unit, department and multidisciplinary process improvement initiatives.
    Actively defines self-learning needs and assertively identifies methods for maintaining clinical awareness, management/administrative competency, and involvement in professional associations.

 

Education Requirements:
•    Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required

 

License/Certification/Registry Requirements:

  • Current New Jersey Professional Nurse License
  • Current New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse License
  • New Jersey CDS and DEA Registrations
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • IV Certification

 

Englewood Health provides a minimum rate to comply with New Jersey Law.  The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
Minimum rate: $56.73
