POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President will lead all fundraising and development efforts for the Medical Center and guide the strategic direction of the Foundation. This role offers the opportunity to shape and manage a high-performing team, strengthen a culture of service, and drive the vision and operations of a dynamic Development department. The Vice President of Development will be an accomplished fundraising executive with proven success, impeccable ethics, and the strategic clarity needed to lead at the highest level. The VP must be able to run a well-oiled operation while shaping the Foundation’s long-term direction and cultivating a strong culture of transparency, consistency, and accountability.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The role requires executive presence and the confidence to work closely with the CEO and the Foundation Chairman—formulating fundraising and development strategies demonstrating defined goals and thoughtful solutions to emerging challenges. The Vice President must be able to communicate plans with precision and provide regular updates that build trust and ensure alignment. Experience within a complex healthcare system, navigating significant organizational changes, and managing large-scale campaigns will be especially valuable. As a visible ambassador in the community, this leader will also personally cultivate and solicit a portfolio of major and principal donors, strengthening relationships that advance the Foundation’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES 

  • A bachelor’s degree required, with an advanced degree in a management discipline strongly preferred
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in a healthcare or academic environment
  • Demonstrated track record of increasingly responsible roles in complex development programs
  • Significant experience in major campaign planning and execution is essential
  • Progressively increasing managerial and supervisory responsibilities that reflect proven success in team building
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, be creative, and implement concepts
  • Possesses a deep understanding of and commitment to collaboration across organizational lines
  • Ability to recruit, motivate, and manage high-level volunteers
  • Current knowledge of best practices in development, particularly in healthcare philanthropy, is required
  • Creativity, independent judgment, and the ability to implement innovative concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical
  • Proficiency in utilizing performance metrics and fundraising technology systems such as Raiser’s Edge
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and foster a collaborative environment is key to success in this position

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in a management discipline is preferred.

The compensation range for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The compensation range does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the compensation range, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources. 
Compensation range: $285K - $355K
