The Section of Interventional Pulmonology / Thoracic Surgery at Englewood Health performs a broad range of advanced procedures and continues to experience steady growth. You will work closely with our interventional pulmonologist, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to support outpatient clinics, inpatient and emergency department consultations, bedside and operating room procedures, and the coordination of our Lung Nodule Program.

 

About the Opportunity: 

  • Our Interventional Pulmonology Group is seeking a motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join a growing, collaborative, and procedure-focused team. This role is ideal for a PA who enjoys a fast-paced procedural/surgical environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality care across the full continuum — outpatient, inpatient, procedural, and post-procedure care.
  • This position offers a strong balance of hands-on procedural experience, independent clinic responsibilities, and meaningful care coordination, with opportunities to see patients at multiple outpatient locations (including Fair Lawn and Jersey City).

What your day will look like

  • Clinical & Procedural Support
  • Coordinate and support the establishment of new Interventional Pulmonology services at Englewood Health
  • Assist the interventional pulmonologist with bedside and minor procedures (e.g., chest tube management, thoracentesis, wound care)
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient management, including reviewing medical clearances and placing laboratory and imaging orders
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and document clinical findings accurately and efficiently.
  • Support outpatient clinic operations, including writing clinic notes, placing orders, coordinating care, and obtaining pre-authorizations for diagnostic studies and procedures
  • See patients independently in the outpatient clinic

 

Inpatient & Emergency Department Coverage

  • Conduct daily inpatient rounds, write progress notes, and coordinate care plans
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient and emergency department consults
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions of care

 

Lung Nodule Program

  • Participate in the evaluation, tracking, and follow-up of patients with incidentally detected or referred lung nodules
  • Coordinate diagnostic workups, imaging studies, and specialty referral
  • Participate in and help coordinate multidisciplinary conferences, including tumor board and lung nodule conferences
  • Provide patient education and navigation throughout the diagnostic and treatment process

 

Qualifications: 

 Education requirements:

  • Bachelor's Required, Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Prior experience in interventional pulmonology, pulmonary/critical care, or thoracic surgery is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong interest in procedural medicine and willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

License/Certification/Registry:

  • Physician Assistant (PA) with current New Jersey license
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • Active NJ CDS and DEA licenses

Englewood Health offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, comprehensive benefits package, and other incentive programs for our employees. The rate shown reflects the minimum compensation; actual compensation considers specialty, relevant experience and training.

Minimum compensation: $61.50 - $75.90 Hourly
