Job Summary:
Prepares and dispenses all medications as prescribed. Monitors patient drug therapy; provides drug information to physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, other Medical Center employees and patients. Oversees and checks the activities of Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians.

Job Essentials:
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, various medical center personnel, and patients when explaining prescription use and/ or gathering and exchanging other medication information.
- Analytical skills necessary in order to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately 80% of work time when reading and interpreting physician orders and related materials, and examining and closely inspecting materials when filling medications orders and preparing IV solutions.
- Ability to prepare and dispense medications in accordance with established hospital and departmental procedures.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
License/Certification/Registry:
Current State license as a Pharmacist
