Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant provides direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning health promotion and preventive care within this specialized area of practice and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment if health problems according to established joint nursing/medical protocols. In addition to direct practice, the sub-roles of the Advanced Practice Nurse/Physicain Assistant role include education, research and consultation. The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant is involved in indirect practice activities with the goal of improving the quality of care across the continuum of care.
