The Infrastructure Engineer will be a major contributor to the overall integration of the Microsoft Windows and Linux Systems such as the planning, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the networks security infrastructure. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor Storage, Cloud and Virtual Infrastructure
- Maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Maintain and configure the fiber channel switching environment
- Ensure that Infrastructure environments remain secured and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed.
- Maintain strict controls on data/system backups and recoverability
- Comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature; make sound judgment decisions and recommendations as to their solution.
- Participate in Patch management
- Professionally manage time between daily tasks and projects.
- Work with IT teams to scope projects, provide technical input and follow-up support.
- Validate all new hardware and systems configurations to ensure compliance with approved standards and guidelines
- Attend product and technology training as required.
- Monitor and maintain virtual environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and capacity planning.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on server and storage infrastructure to ensure reliability and security.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using Commvault.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, including system migrations, application deployments, and data center improvements.
- Support day-to-day aspects of the level 2 and 3 Support.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Assist in planning and executing system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Participate in the setting of standards for Virtual, Physical and Cloud Infrastructure.
- Submit, represent and review all network change management requests.
- Participate in the Change Control Review Committee.
- Promote virtualization and storage security best practices and transfer technical knowledge to team members.
- Develop and maintain project plans for assigned projects and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Participate in On-Call rotations including some weekends and holidays.
- Support end-users as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- 3-5 years of experience working with Microsoft technologies
- Certification in Microsoft technology is highly desired.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory architecture, user/group policies, OU structure, and security best practices.
- Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
- Experience with monitoring tools and infrastructure automation/scripting (PowerShell, Manage Engine Endpoint Central, ADManager, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with advanced troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Position requires ability to interact with all levels of hospital staff, vendors, consultants, etc.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field required.
