Job Summary:
The IT Manager integrates, coordinates and plans resources to achieve hospital strategic goals via management,user preparation, and support of IT systems. Organizes, manages and develops project team resources in order to effectively meet project commitments and business objectives. Forms interdisciplinary project teams consisting of IT professionals and operational owners to implement major IT applications. Manages the design, acquisition, implementation and evaluation of IT systems. The IT Manager will be responsible for Epic core clinical EMR applications and integrated 3rd party apps. He/she will also be responsible for departmental quality improvement efforts, organizational QA initiatives/regulatory compliance efforts, and establishing close working relationships with inpatient operational end users to accurately understand and represent the needs of these varios inpatient end user groups from nursing and ancillary departments.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- 3+ years experience in Healthcare Information Systems, with practical experience in healthcare operations and systems analysis required.
- 2+ years of management experience or experience in leading system implementations and project management of strategic integrated team projects is preferred.
- Experience with Epic system implementation is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of HL7 interfaces, integration, operating systems, and conversions is preferred.
- Strong leadership characteristics and managerial skills that empower and develop others.
- Ability to plan, direct and coordinate all activities of an applications support group with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the expertise to translate technical terminology into terms understandable by management, department heads and performance level personnel.
- An understanding of the healthcare applications suite and their place in the acute care, physician, ambulatory and ancillary settings.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Certification in at least 2 Epic Core clinical applications.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems a plus. Advance degree is a plus.
