Job Summary:
Responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients identified with special needs and/or those who meet nutritional risk criteria.  Nutritional care includes patient assessment and reassessment, patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, nutritional plan of care development, and documentation of all interventions in accordance with hospital policy and acceptable practice standards.

Job Essentials:

  • Delivers high-quality patient care by providing nutritional assessments, counseling, tube feeding calculations, and diet planning in alignment with medical guidelines and patient needs.

  • Communicates professionally and respectfully with patients, families, staff, and management, maintaining confidentiality and upholding service excellence standards at all times.

  • Maintains accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies, JCAHO, and state standards, ensuring all patient interactions and clinical decisions are properly recorded.

  • Provides leadership and education by guiding Food Service staff, training students, presenting new information, and contributing to departmental in-services and quality programs.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement through policy development, incident investigations, community outreach, and collaboration with medical, nursing, and nutritional teams.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
  • Registered Dietitian credential with CDR
  • Acute care experience
  • Familiar with hospital computer systems, EPIC a plus
  • Strong communication skills

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
