Job Summary:
Under general supervision, and according to well-defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients’ representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry and other record-keeping tasks related to the patients’ registration within the registration areas. This position assists with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician’s time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone; schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage check-in/check-out procedures

Maintain accurate patient records, update demographics and insurance details, and scan documentation into EMR/EHR systems

Take vital signs, assist with minor procedures, perform phlebotomy/EKG as ordered, and prepare exam rooms with proper sterilization and supplies

Relay messages, manage faxes/voicemails, and coordinate with physicians, departments, and patients using professional communication and phone etiquette

Handle payments, ensure patient confidentiality, maintain a clean waiting area, attend meetings, and support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent or 5 years of Medical Assistant/PCT experience
- Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred
- Current CPR Certification preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)/Patient Care Technician (PCT). Certification required for injection administration and medication documentation/handling.

Proficient in patient care procedures, vital signs, administering treatments, using medical equipment, and maintaining accurate medical records

Skilled in healthcare administration, computer systems, and interpreting clinical data; knowledgeable about safety protocols and policy application

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, resolve issues, and work collaboratively with patients and staff
- Bilingual in Korean and/or Chinese required

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
