Job Summary:
The Advance Practice Nurse is an expert clinician and patient advocate in a particular specialty or subspecialty of nursing practice. The Advance Practice Nurse can be a credentialed Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner. The Advance Practice Nurse provides direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning health promotion and preventive care within this specialized area of practice and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of health problems according to established joint nursing/medical protocols. In addition to direct practice, the sub-roles of the Advance Practice Nurse role include education, research and consultation. The Advance Practice Nurse is involved in indirect practice activities with the goal of improving the quality of care across the continuum of care.
The Physician Assistant functions in a medical support role, in the provision of medical care, and works under the direction, supervision and responsibility of a physician. Appointment of the Physician's Assist, and the duties and responsibilities approved for each appointee, are governed by the pertinent sections of Public Health; the Education Law; the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules, Regulations of the State of New Jersey; Hospital and Medical Staff bylaws; and policies, rules, and regulations of the Department Breast Surgery. The duties of the Physician Assistant differ according to the assigned area, work schedule, office hours, Operating Room, Surgical ICU, and Surgical floors.

Job Essentials:
- 2 – 3 years APN/PA experience preferred
- Experience in breast surgery preferred
