Englewood Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to support our dynamic Cardiothoracic Surgery team. About the Opportunity
- The Cardiothoracic Surgery Program Coordinator is an advanced practice clinician responsible for the comprehensive management of cardiothoracic surgery patients across the pre‑operative, inpatient, and post‑operative continuum. This role combines direct Non-OR clinical care with operational leadership to ensure a seamless, efficient, and high‑quality surgical pathway.
What your day will look like
- Perform comprehensive histories and physicals for pre‑ and post‑operative cardiac surgery patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; identify normal vs. abnormal findings.
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate plans of care; document clearly in the medical record.
- Participate in daily rounds with cardiac surgery attendings and ICU intensivists; execute care plans with nursing and care coordination teams.
- Manage pre‑ and post‑procedure care, including consent, pre‑op testing, line/tube management, access‑site care, and complication monitoring.
- Provide patient and family education throughout the surgical journey.
- Complete discharge summaries, prescriptions, and follow‑up calls.
- Maintain clinical competency and participate in education, orientation, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required
- APN with clinical experience in Cardiothoracic Services
- Current NJ Professional Nurse License
- Current NJ Nurse Practitioner License
- DEA and NJ CDS registration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and flexibility

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The rate shown reflects the flat hourly rate for this position; this position is not benefit eligible.
Minimum compensation: $150,000 - $172,000 per year
