Job Summary:
Englewood Health is seeking a skilled and motivated PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA) or NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP) to join our dynamic team in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, precise documentation, and clinical expertise in the management of all phases of care for the cardiac surgery patient. The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery currently performs 500+ adult cardiac and thoracic surgical cases per year and experiencing steady growth.
Job Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a cardiac surgery provider preferred.
- Deliver comprehensive care to cardiac surgery patients in telemetry, stepdown, and ICU units.
- Approaching a patient to elicit a detailed and accurate history, perform an appropriate physical
examination, identify problems, record information and interpret and present information to the
supervising physician. - Assisting a physician in an inpatient setting by conducting patient rounds, recording patient, progress notes, determining and implementing therapeutic plans jointly with the supervising physician and compiling and recording pertinent narrative case summaries.
- Provide expert clinical management of cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively, including assessment, planning, and coordination of care.
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and manage patients in the ICU, including ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-operative recovery.
- Participate in daily rounds, care planning, and discharge coordination.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice within the cardiac surgery service.
- Facilitating the referral of patients to, and promoting their awareness of, health care facilities and
other appropriate agencies and resources in the community.

Education requirements:
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor's degree required; Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
- Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree required
License/Certification/Registry:
- Physician Assistant: Current NJ PA license and NCCPA certification required
- Nurse Practitioner (NP): Current NJ NP license required
- Current CDS and DEA registrations
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
