Job Summary:
Under general supervision, and according to well defined policies and procedures, the Call Center Representative schedules imaging services for the Department of Radiology, the Breast Center and all off-site imaging facilities. Performs computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to the patients’ appointments. Exhibits Service Excellence Standards at all times and incorporates into all interactions.

Job Essentials:
- Answers telephone promptly, schedules and registers appointments.
 - Accurately coordinates scheduling and pre-registering of multiple appointments across multiple service locations. Includes retrieval of all demographic, financial and insurance information from patients and/or patients’ representatives.
 - Schedules patients in appropriate time sequences and provides patient preparation instructions for exam accurately. Makes notation of special needs per MD request.
 - Solicits and records accurate demographic, financial, clinical, and insurance information via data entry into computer system.
 - Verifies insurance eligibility on all patients.
 - Requests deposits/payments as required.
 - Scans any pertinent documents into Document Imaging System.
 - Demonstrates working knowledge of imaging services and the ability to explain all procedures as needed.
 - Respects the privacy and confidentiality of each patient record under HIPAA.
 - Treats all individuals with respect including, but not limited to, patients, co-workers, physicians and Medical Center Staff.
 - Participates in departmental quality assurance endeavors and in his/her own performance evaluation process.
 - Assists and performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED or a minimum of 3 years related experience required.
 - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with professional appearance.
 - Ability to function independently.
 - Clerical, data entry, and computer skills required.
 - Demonstrates appropriate and courteous telephone etiquette during telephone exchanges.
 - Relays essential phone messages.
 - Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, co-workers, physicians and Medical Center Staff.
 - Ability to accurately schedule appointments.
 - Ability to work in a fast paced environment that has frequent changes in priorities, policies and requirements.
 - Flexibility and ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with organizational skills and an ability to multi-task with speed and accuracy.
