Nursing

Englewood Hospital is proud to be recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center five consecutive times since 2002—among the less than 10 percent of hospitals in the nation to hold this recognition for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice. Our registered nurses provide direct patient care as staff nurses, as well as work as care coordinators, managers, and nurse educators. Nurses with less than one year of experience are supported through an accredited Nurse Residency Program.

Why choose Englewood Health for your nursing career?

  • Nurse Residency Program: We offer a one-year Nurse Residency Program that supports new nurses as they transition into their first role as professional caregivers. Nurses with less than one year experience who are hired for a position are automatically enrolled in the residency program. The program is accredited as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
  • Professional Development and Learning: Through our Kaplen Institute for Nursing Excellence, we offer ample opportunities for professional development and learning, including mentorship and preceptor programs; educational workshops, lectures, and skills fairs; support with achieving specialty certification or pursuing additional nursing education; and programs to help nurses transition into new clinical areas.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: Thanks to The Kaplen Institute for Nursing Excellence and the generosity of donors, each year we offer a competitive scholarship program for current nurses seeking advanced nursing education.
  • Collaborative, Dynamic Environment: Our practice environment supports teamwork and autonomy, where nurses work together to achieve goals and are given opportunities to enhance their own workplace environment. Nurses can take on leadership roles on committees, unit-based teams, councils, and in community and professional organizations.
  • Recognition: Through the DAISY Award, annual Nursing Services Awards, and unit-based awards, exceptional nurses are recognized for their contributions to our patients, teams, and hospital.
